Minnesota Health Official reported 4,906 new coronavirus cases and 23 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health a total of 2,698 people have died because of the virus, with 1,860 of those death occurring in long term care facilities.

A total of 189,681 cases have been confirmed in the state since the pandemic began in March.  Of those, 153,347 people no longer need to self isolate.

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public health show 27 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 4,441 new cases have been reported.  The state is also seeing a record high in the number of long term care facilities where outbreaks have been reported.

The number of new positive tests reported on Tuesday, brings the total number of positive tests to 161,257.  Of the people who have tested positive 102,914 have recovered.

The data shows there have been 1,872 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of thoses deaths, 900 were residents of long term care facilities.  There are currently outbreaks at 102 long term care facilities in Iowa.

As of Tuesday morning there are 1,135 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, a new daily high.  Of the hospitalized patients, a record high 196 are in intensive care and 89 of those patients are on ventilators.
