ELECTION DAY
TUESDAY NOV. 6 IS ELECTION DAY IN TOWNSHIPS, TOWNS, CITIES, COUNTIES AND STATES ALL ACROSS THE NATION.
IN MARTIN COUNTY VOTERS HAVE MUNICIPALITY, SCHOOL BOARD, AND COUNTY RACES TO GO ALONG WITH STATE RACES FOR GOVERNOR, ATTORNEY GENERAL, SECRETARY OF STATE AND AUDITOR ALONG WITH STATE LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 23 A AND FEDERAL CONGRESSIONAL RACES INCLUDING FIRST DISTRICT U.S. REPRESENTATIVE AS WELL AS TWO U.S SENATE RACES.
IN FAIRMONT THERE ARE RACES FOR MAYOR AND WARD 1 WARD 3 CITY COUNCIL. The FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD WILL FILL THREE SPOTS OUT OF A FIELD OF FOUR CANDIDATES AND MARTIN COUNTY HAS CONTESTED RACES FOR COUNT RECORDER AND 4TH DISTRICT MARTIN COUNTY COMMISSIONER.
MUNICIPAL POLLS OPEN AT 7 AM AND ALL CLOSE AT 8 PM. MOST TOWNSHIP POLLS OPEN AT 10 AM WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FAIRMONT TOWNSHIP VOTING WITH THE CITY OF FAIRMONT AT THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL ON 10TH STREET AND CENTER CREEK TOWNSHIP VOTING WITH CITY OF GRANADA WHOSE POLLS OPEN AT 7 AM AT THE CITY HALL. EAST CHAIN TOWNSHIP AND THE TOWN OF ORMSBY CONDUCTED MAIL BALLOTING THIS YEAR.
