Ahead of a special meeting which was called for Wednesday, the remaining three candidates for City Administrator of Fairmont withdrew from consideration for the post. The last to withdraw was current Community Development Director Pat Oman. Other finalists Dana Schoening and Scott Hilderbrand withdrew last week.
The meeting was still held at 5 p.m. Wednesday with a one-item agenda. Interim Administrator Jeff O’Neill told the City Council that Oman had sent a letter withdrawing his interest in the job earlier in the afternoon. O’ Neill said “Given the narrow nature of that notice and the withdrawal of that candidate, there really isn’t anything further to discuss at this meeting.” After a motion and a second, the meeting was dismissed after two minutes.
The next Fairmont City Council meeting is scheduled for October 13th at 5 p.m.
