COTTONWOOD COUNTY FARMERS CHARGED WITH WIRE FRAUD & CONSPIRACY

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Two Minnesota farmers are accused of conspiring to sell more then $46 million in chemically treated crops as organic, federal prosecutors announced Friday. James Clayton Wolf, 65, and Adam Clifford Olson, 45, both certified organic farmers in Cottonwood County, were each charged with three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy. Wolf had previously been charged in federal court with felony wire fraud before being named in Friday’s superseding indictment. Deadline for Operation Round Up applications

  (Jackson, MN) —  The next deadline is February 10 for Operation Round Up funds from Federated Rural Electric’s Trust Board. Operation Round Up involves about 77 percent of Federated's members in Jackson and Martin Counties; they allow their monthly electric bills to be rounded up to the nearest dollar amount. The "rounded up" change goes into a trust fund. An independent Trust Board, which consists of Federated members, evaluates local funding requests and distributes the funds. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — This time, Carlos Correa’s deal is done. A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Correa passed his physical exam and finalized a $200 million, six-year contract with Minnesota.
