Martin County commissioners on Tuesday approved a 2020 property tax levy of $17.1 million, an increase of 4.92 percent from this year. The board also approved a 2020 budget. Expenditures are set at $33.59 million while revenues are set at $34.2 million.

The board also:

Approved a resolution in support of a 46-acre land acquisition in Fox Lake Township, Section 28. Fox Lake Conservation League will use 2018 Conservation Partners Legacy grant funds to purchase the parcel.

Approved a motion accepting the resignation of Chad Schlichte, a full-time deputy sheriff, effective Dec. 19.

Approved a motion accepting the retirement resignation of Nancy Warner at the Martin County Library.

Approved a motion to set a special meeting date and time of 9 a.m. Jan. 14 to meet with state Sen. Julie Rosen, who requested to meet with the board. The board will hold a regular meeting on Jan. 7.

Approved retaining Briggs and Morgan for legal services pertaining to 2019 Walmart Inc. Tax Petition.

Approve and award bid for installation of marble service window countertops for the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office (including Drainage Administration Office) to Fairmont Marble and Granite in the amount of $11,600.

 Approve and award bid for installation of bullet proof glass service windows for the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office (including Drainage Administration Office) to Fairmont Glass and Sign in the amount of $48,725.

 Approve and award bid for engineering design specifications for service window in the Recorder’s Office to Wold Architects and Engineers in the amount of $2,000.

Approved a motion to accept a $9,625 bid from Wold Engineering to replace hot water boilers at the Human Resource Building.

Approve and authorize Board Vice Chair to sign resolution Order Fixing Ditch Repair and Maintenance Levies and Assessments on County, Joint County, and Judicial Ditches of Martin County, MN.

 Set Public Hearing Date of January 23, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., to consider proposed alterations to JD #97.
