The public is invited to an open house on Wednesday, September 11, to learn about a roadway project in 2021 on Hwy 263 from I-90 to Ceylon, as well as provide input on proposed safety improvements on the segment through the city of Ceylon.

Representatives from MnDOT will give a brief presentation at 4 p.m., followed by an open house format until 6 p.m. at the Legends II, 103 E. Main St., Ceylon.

Hwy 263 from I-90 to Ceylon will be resurfaced in 2021 in preparation for a turnback of the highway to Martin County. During project development, the Ceylon City Council indicated a desire to reduce traffic speed on Hwy 263 through town. MnDOT shared different options that help reduce speed and increase safety, including aesthetics (i.e. boulevard and light poles), back-in diagonal parking and bumpouts. The Council is interested in pursuing some of these elements, but is seeking input from the Ceylon community before moving forward.

The public is encouraged to attend the open house to learn more about the project and provide feedback on the segment of Hwy 263 through Ceylon. For more information and sign up to receive email updates, go to the MnDOT project website at mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy263ceylon/
