FAIRMONT FIREFIGHTERS WERE ON THE SCENE FOR ABOUT 4 AND A HALF HOURS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AT THE HOMETOWN SANITATION BUILDING ON FAIRVIEW AVENUE. FIRE CHIEF BRANDON SCOTT SAID TWO HAULING TRUCKS WERE AFLAME WHEN THEY ARRIVED ON SCENE JUST AFTER 2:30 SATURDAY MORNING. ONE OF THE TRUCKS WAS FULL OF CARDBOARD THAT MADE PUTTING OUT THE FIRE MUCH MORE DIFFICULT . CHIEF SCOTT ESTIMATED DAMAGE AT ABOUT $225,000 TO BOTH TRUCKS AND SIDING ON THE STRUCTURE.
