A Minnesota State Patrol trooper was injured Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on Interstate 90 west of Highway 254 and east of Blue Earth.
Minnesota’s Department of Public Safety says the trooper was assaulted by occupants of the vehicle during the stop.
The vehicle fled the scene. A pursuit began after the assault and was called off a short time later.
Suspects were later taken into custody after their vehicle was found abandoned in Albert Lea.
The officer was transported to United Hospital in Blue Earth. He was reported to be conscious and stable when transported.
