Plans are underway for the 12th Annual Martin County Kids Against Hunger food pack, to be held 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Fairmont National Guard Armory. You are invited to put together a team of friends, family or co-workers and join in the excitement and fun with a goal of packing 125,000 meals at a KAH food pack. A FAIRMONT MAN IS FACING FELONY CHARGES FOR THEFT BY SWINDLE IN MARTIN COUNTY DISTRICT COURT. ACCORDING TO THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, 44 YEAR-OLD TIGER DAN MASON STANDS ACCUSED OF BILKING AN ELDERLY FAIRMONT WOMAN OUT OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN FEES FOR HOME IMPROVEMENTS. POLICE RECEIVED A REPORT FROM MINNESOTA ADULT ABUSE RECORDING THAT MASON HAD ALLEGEDLY CHARGED AN 81 YEAR-OLD WOMAN AROUND $100,000 FOR HOME REPAIRS OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS WITHOUT GIVING HER RECEIPTS OR INVOICES FOR THE WORK. MASON IS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN MARTIN COUNTY COURT ON MARCH 3RD.

The Fairmont City Council revisited the reconstruction project on Lake Avenue Monday. Scheduled for this year, the $4.8 million project will revamp the stretch of Lake/Blue Earth Avenue from West Fourth Street to South Park Street, revising the thoroughfare from four lanes to two, plus a center turn lane.
