Several candidates identified economic growth and attracting businesses that provide good-paying jobs as major priorities. Kelly and Krumrey pointed to the need to bring new businesses to Fairmont, while Niss emphasized attracting investment, particularly in manufacturing. Bode and Landsteiner criticized the current city government, while Niss stressed rebuilding trust and teamwork among council members, city staff and residents. If elected, the candidates also offered different approaches to improving council meetings, including stronger leadership, better organization, respectful discussion and clearer agendas. Across their responses, candidates highlighted the importance of moving Fairmont forward, with priorities including economic development, improved city government and addressing community concerns.
