Fire In Fairmont Claims One Life

A house fire Monday evening has claimed the life of a Fairmont man. Responders were called to a fire at a home in the 300 block of South Park Street around 4:45 p.m. Heavy smoke was already filling the structure. Personnel were able to locate one man in the basement. He was taken to Fairmont MCHS where he was succumbed to his injuries. There were two other occupants of the house, who were both able to escape. Injury Accident In Fairmont

Five vehicles were involved in an accident Tuesday that left an Arizona man with life threatening injuries. At 5:40 PM Tuesday, an accident involving multiple northbound vehicles was reported at State Highway 15 and Torgerson Drive in Fairmont. The driver of a 2018 Cadillac XT5, Paul Mokelbust, 91, of Yuma, Arizona, was the most seriously injured in the accident. He was given CPR at the scene and transported to Mayo Clinic Health System Fairmont with what the State Patrol report termed life-threatening injuries. Two Fairmont Cardinal athletes will be making the move to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference next year to try their hand at NCAA Division II College Basketball. Brylee Miller and Logan Junkermeier signed their Letters Of Intent in a ceremony Wednesday morning at Fairmont High School. Miller joined a group of four other freshman to head to Minnesota State-Mankato to play for the 2024 National Champions. School Bus Accident Injures Two

A vehicle and a school bus collided on Highway 109 west of Easton Tuesday afternoon, injuring both drivers. Donald Lee Madden, 65, of Amboy, who was the driver of the 2016 Transit School Bus, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Marylou Sophia Alger, 72, of Minnesota Lake, who was the driver of a 2017 Chevy Equinox, was taken to United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Both had non life-threatening injuries.
