All City Administrator Candidates Withdraw

Ahead of a special meeting which was called for Wednesday, the remaining three candidates for City Administrator of Fairmont withdrew from consideration for the post. The last to withdraw was current Community Development Director Pat Oman. Other finalists Dana Schoening and Scott Hilderbrand withdrew last week. Fairmont Woman Killed In Pedestrian Accident

On Friday evening, September 26, at approximately 6:05 pm, Fairmont Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian that struck by a motor vehicle in the 600 block of East 4th Street in Fairmont. A 64-year-old female was crossing East 4th Street when she was struck by the motor vehicle traveling westbound on East 4th Street being driven by a 56-year-old female. Lifesaving efforts were attempted, but the 64-year-old female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was taken into custody. Two Injured In Highway 15 Accident

Two area men were injured in a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 15 near Lewisville on Tuesday morning. At 10:45 am emergency personnel responded to the report of an accident at the intersection of Highway 15 and 390th Street, on the south edge of Lewisville. A 2003 Jeep Cherokee driven by Jacob William Mohwinkel, 31, of Truman, was northbound on Highway 15 when it collided with a 2007 Peterbilt Semi driven southbound by Armano Magana Mendoza, 41, of Granada. Ruby’s Pantry will have a food distribution in East Chain, Minnesota on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00A.M.-11:00A.M. at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located at 507 280th Avenue in rural East Chain. Minnesota’s regular waterfowl hunting season opens a half-hour before sunrise on Saturday, Sept. 27. Spring waterfowl counts were generally higher than last year, with the full report from the spring waterfowl survey available on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources waterfowl management webpage (mndnr.gov/waterfowl). In the report, total breeding duck abundance (excluding scaup) was estimated at 417,000, which is 8% above the 2024 estimate and 32% below the long-term average going back to 1968.
