The Minnesota Department of Health reported on Thursday 1,276 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases in Minnesota is 107,922.
There have been 8 additional deaths associated with COVID-19, putting the state’s death total at 2,107. Deaths among cases that resided in long term care or assisted living facilities increased to 1,501.
A total of 97,254 people have recovered statewide and no longer required isolation.
The number of Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19 reached a new one day high on Thursday as 1,515 more Iowans tested positive for the coronavirus.
As of Thursday, 841,909 Iowans have been tested for the coronavirus and of those, 74,170 are considered recovered by the state.
The statewide death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 1,419 Iowans, including 5 more deaths reported on Thursday morning. Of those who have died from the virus, 724 were residents of long term care facilities.
As of Thursday morning there were 449 Iowans hospitalized, 112 patients are currently in the ICU and 39 patients are on ventilators.
