The Minnesota Department of Health reports 6 more residents have died from COVID-19. The deaths reported on Tuesday raised the state’s total to 1,441, with 1,131 of the deaths occurring in long term care or assisted living facilities.
The Health Department also reported 444 new confirmed cases, increasing the state’s total to 36,303.
As of Tuesday, 270 patients were hospitalized, with 136 of them in intensive care.
Martin County confirmed cases 156. Active 8. Recovered 143.
Faribault County has 53 confirmed cases. Active 20 . Recovered 33. Currently known hospitalizations 2.
County Health Officials from Community Health and Human Services of Faribault & Martin Counties are working closely with Seneca Foods, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), United Hospital District (UHD) and Faribault County Emergency Management to respond to a cluster of COVID-19 cases at Seneca Foods.
All parties involved are taking a united approach to the response by identifying people who are ill as quickly as possible and ensuring that people get the medical care they need. Seneca Foods has been designated as a critical infrastructure and they had proactively implemented comprehensive screening and safety measures to minimize the spread of this illness.

Community Health Staff at Human Services continue to operate a 24/7 message service for anyone needing assistance with obtaining essential services, such as groceries or supplies. This service is available to help individuals safely isolate and quarantine as they recover from COVID-19. The message service number is 507-238-8434.

The Iowa Department of Health reported 6 new deaths from the coronavirus, that brings the state’s total to 713.
The Health Department also reported on Tuesday 212 new cases. The state’s total number of COVID-19 cases is 28,944.
A total of 303,775 people have been tested and 23,078 patients are recovering and no longer require isolation.
A total of 133 patients are currently hospitalized, with 34 in ICU’s across the state.
