WATONWAN COUNTY HAS 271 CONFIRMED CASES AT LAST REPORT. 55 ACTIVE. 216 RECOVERED. 4 CURRENTLY KNOWN HOSPITALIZED.

Minnesota reported the highest daily COVID-19 case count since May on Saturday as 806 people were confirmed to have the virus.

The state has been conducting many more daily tests since May. About 5% of the 16,087 tests reported Saturday were positive.

Health officials also reported four more deaths of residents in long-term care and assisted living facilities. Three were in their 90s, while the other person was in the 80s age range.

The state has recorded 41,571 cases of COVID-19. Nearly 86% of those have recovered, but 1,499 people have died. Most of the deaths have been among residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.

The number of coronavirus cases in Iowa is now over 35,000.

The Iowa Department of Public Health said the number of cases of COVID-19 grew to 35,002 at 10 a.m. Sunday. That is 503 higher than Saturday’s total.

There have now been a total of 750 deaths in the state linked to the coronavirus.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.

Of the 35,002 people who have tested positive for the virus, 26,206 have recovered.
