SHERBURN — A free showing of the agricultural-themed miniseries Perfect Sundays is coming to the Sherburn Theatre later this month. The Martin County West FFA and a local family are sponsoring the event, which will be held at 7 p.m. September 26 and 4 p.m. September 27. The first episode will be shown at the theater, followed by a code allowing viewers to watch the remainder of the miniseries. MCW FFA advisor and agriscience teacher Stephanie Wohlhuter says the series focuses on a farm family dealing with the death of its patriarch by suicide. She says the topic is especially relevant as rural communities face increased attention on mental health, including stress from commodity prices, major farm decisions and generational transitions. Wohlhuter says the goal is to encourage conversations about mental health and remind people they are not alone and that resources and support are available. The event follows a community showing of the grain-bin safety movie Silo in Sherburn in 2020, which Wohlhuter says generated important conversations throughout the community.
