Minnesotans head to the polls Tuesday Aug. 11 for the primary election, although many people have already voted by mail and those ballots remain to be counted. Closer to home voters in all of Martin and parts of Faribault, Watonwan and Jackson Counties have the Minnesota House of Representatives District 23A Seat on the Republican side between Michael Sukalski and Bjorn Olson on the ballot. Current State Representative Bob Gunther of Fairmont has announced his decision to retire from the State Legislature. Polls are open in Martin County Municipalities from 7 AM to 8 PM and for Townships that have not gone to mail in balloting the polls are open from 10 AM to 8 PM with exception of Center Creek Township which votes at the Granada City Hall from 7 AM – 8 PM Tuesday.
