THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD MET TUESDAY NIGHT. A GOOD PORTION OF THE MEETING WAS TAKEN UP WITH THE SCHOOLS LEARNING MODEL SITUATION WHICH PRESENTLY STANDS AT ALL DISTANCE LEARNING DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. SUPT, JOE BROWN SAID HE HAS BEEN IN CONSTANT TOUCH WITH STATE OFFICIALS AND ADMITS THAT MAY BE THE SIIUATION FOR AWHILE LONGER. THAT MEANS THE SAME FOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FOR THE TIME BEING.
THE BOARD ACCEPTED THE 2019-20 SCHOOL DISTRICT AUDIT REPORT AS PRESENTED BY BLAKE BODE OF EIDE-BAILEY OF MANKATO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AUDITORS. BLAKE SAID THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS A CLEAN/UNMODIFIED AUDIT FOR THE FINANCIALS AS WELL AS THE SINGLE AUDIT COVERING FEDERAL FUNDS PERTAINING TO THE SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM FOR FREE AND REDUCED MEALS.
THE BOARD APPROVED THE TEACHER SENIORITY LIST, SETTING A BOARD WORKSHOP FOR THE NEXT MEETING DATE ON OCTOBER 27 AND SET THE TAX LEVY HEARING FOR TUESDAY DEC. 8TH AT 6 PM.
